The company has signed a major contract with the Hotelera Santos chain in order to set up a wellness area in two of its hotels which are currently under construction: Baqueira Beret (Lleida) and Torre Fira (Hospitalet de Llobregat).
The company has already prepared the design for both instalments, which will achieve optimal results in terms of space and relaxation areas. This will enable the hotel chain to provide its clients with a new option for enjoying this kind of package, thanks to the benefits of warmth, cold and water. The installation envisages saunas, steam baths, a hydromassage spa and a vitality pool: the Freixanet Saunasport concept of recreational pools. Moreover, it provides a range of therapeutic effects including a cold water pool, shower temple and heated loungers.
With its inauguration planned for the 2008-2009 ski season, the Hotel Val de Neu is the chain’s first snow-related establishment. This five star hotel is strategically located at Cota 1500 in Baqueira Verte and will have 120 rooms, a lobby bar, garage, restaurant and spa.
The Porta Fira Hotel is located in the area of Barcelona where the Gran Vía trade fair is undergoing expansion (Hospitalet de Llobregat). It will be a 24-storey, four star hotel with 345 rooms and suites, large lounges, a restaurant, gymnasium and spa, outdoor jogging track and other facilities. The entire project, which comprises the new entrance to the trade fair venue and an office block, has been designed by prominent Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Construction of the hotel tower is being recorded daily on account of its design and the construction method employed so that the final assembly can be studied in architecture classes taught at the University of Barcelona. It is expected to open its doors at the start of 2009.
By incorporating these two spas in the range of services on offer, the hotel chain is venturing for Freixanet Saunasport’s extensive track record in order to enable its clients to achieve physical and psychological wellbeing through the effects of water and temperature contrasts.
