Thanks to the wellness project carried out by Freixanet Saunasport, the leading Spanish company specialising in the design and construction of wellness areas, the Hotel Intercontinental Mar Menor Golf Resort&Spa in Murcia was awarded the prize for the best hotel with a spa in Spain at Protermal 2008, the main professional trade fair in the thermal sector which was held at the end of March in the Cristal Pavilion in Madrid.

Specifically, the Freixanet Wellness Professional division spearheaded the wellness area project that brings together the healing heat of 3 saunas and 4 steam baths, 2 vitality pools, the stimulating freshness of 3 ice fountains, as well as several heated benches, all in a setting of warm colours, top quality wood and a subtle aroma of oil essences giving a feeling of peace, calmness and indescribable serenity.
